ABOUT 08. Text your Bid

About

Texting bids allow you to send your bids to us using a text message, and this is very convenient for those who consider a call phone as another appendage.

Success Factors

  • Register your cell phone with us.
  • Make certain you receive a confirmation.
  • Confirm your lots and bid amounts.

Gottchas

  • We need more than a phone number to know who you are.
  • Web conferencing is a more modern alternative with similar features.
  • We may ask you to text with a dedicated agent if the auction is live.

Text bidding is very reliable and requires little technology but can be complicated if you have complex bid instructions.  Most data plans have unlimited text, making text bidding very low cost.  Texts allow a record of your bids and history, but it can be challenging to sort through the conversation.

Using your phone to place a bid – how easy is that?

What to Expect

Registering your cell phone number will allow us to identify you when you bid.  If you do not register, you can still bid by text, but we will need to ask you to identify yourself in the message.  You will text us the lot number(s) and your bid(s).  We will enter the bids on the books and then confirm your bids with a returned text.
